Tears Kyritsis

Tears is an artist and a fine art photographer located in Athens, Greece. Their work is inspired mostly by mental health issues, surrealism and their love for colour.

They use analog photography and mixed media art carefully art directed to showcase and create artworks that tend to create conflict to the audience. They develop the film rolls they shoot in their bathroom. They love making collages, watch and analyse films.

They’re a punk artist that goes against the societal norms and proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. They never leave the house without a book, a planner and their keys. They’re also a sucker for tattoos and piercings.

Their favourite camera is the Mamimya 645 pro. It’s a medium format film camera that uses the nominal 6 cm x 4.5 cm film size from 120 roll film. Like most medium format film cameras, the 645 Pro is a modular system camera. At its core, it’s a lens, body, back, and viewfinder of some kind, and you have a huge choice of lenses, seven different viewfinder choices, five different focusing screen choices, a series of different backs, and then you can further trick out your camera with various grips or winders, depending on your handling and shooting needs, as well as various bellows, tubes, and even different cable release types.
